IPL Hits Bollywood Hard

Loading ...None of the latest releases of neither this week in Bollywood nor the previous week have been able to rake in much money and the culprit, as the tradebuzz puts it, is the IPL series. The IPL matches which have attracted maximum viewership in the month of March seems to be growing even more in popularity in the forthcoming month of April. The current releases, Well Done Abba, Mittal vs Mittal and Hum Tum aur Ghost have all opened to near empty theaters. Hum Tum aur Ghost is a movie that is doing fairly better and is the king among the paupers so to say, in this week.
The previous week had critically acclaimed films like Love, Sex aur Dhokha and Shaapit. Though they opened well and had decent business in the weekend, they also ran to near-empty theaters in this week. Still Love, Sex aur Dhokha is poised to make the maximum money out of the movies released in these weeks, because of the morning shows that are frequented by the college going crowd. The IPL fever is definitely high and the matches are getting higher TRPs than any of the previous seasons. Many people believe that these movies may come some or the other time in DVDs, prime-time television or cable, so there is no hurry to see them.
