Loading ...Never the one to shy from bold roles, Vidya Balan is doing one of the boldest roles of her career, where she will essay the role of a strong yet sensual woman, Silk Smitha in a new movie named ‘The Dirty Picture’. This movie is supposedly being produced by Ekta Kapoor and will chronicle the life of the famous B-grade actress and item girl Silk Smitha who eventually committed suicide. Though the movie is still in pre-production, there is news that Vidya Balan may just bag the role of Silk Smitha.
Silk Smitha’s story as most people in South India know, is about the cult figure who defied conservative mindset and made it big on her own, even though she came from a poor background. It is the story of how glamor, stress and alcohol affect a person’s fame and popularity and bring him or her to the brink of death. Milan Luthria, who is currently directing Once Upon A Time In Mumbai for Ekta’s banner will direct this movie as well.
