Kites is a flop: It is Official

Kites has flopped, the figures point towards the dismal collections that the movie has incurred. Though it had a great start as it was easily one of the most awaited films of 2010, Kites which enjoyed a good opening weekend where it netted Rs. 30.5 crore plummeted from Monday. The business nose-dived drastically with every passing day. Both critics and the masses have shunned the movie. While critics had an issue with the story, the masses did not take kindly to the sub-titles being used in Hindi and the ending of the film. Not just the multiplexes, even single screen theaters registered a sharp decline.

Kites was sold at high prices and the distributors are clearly losing big-time. It is believed that distributors in Bihar have even sued the producers for making them believe that it is a Hindi movie when it was actually a movie, with Hrithik Roshan hardly talking in Hindi.
