Last week has been pretty bad for the modeling world as well as the film industry. On the same day that Vivek Babajee committed sucicide, Saurabh Narang, the man who directed one of Ram Gopal Varma’s better horror films, Vaastu Shastra(2004). He succumbed to stomach cancer; he was battling it for many months and was being treated in Sri Lanka. Hardly in his 30s, Sourab started young and he got a dream opportunity to direct Ram Gopal Varma’s Vaastu Shastra. The film did decently well and the child star Ahsaas Channa, whom he discovered is a regular in RGV’s Phoonk series of films.
It is believed that Narang was gung-ho about the new movie he had in mind, called ‘Return Gift’. The movie was to star Rajeev Khandelwala. The industry people are shocked by his death and people who were close to him like directors Sudhir Mishra, Suparn Verma, Shivajee Chandrabhushan and Sachin Khot, and actor Rajeev Khandelwal miss him profusely. Known to be one of the nicest hassle-free filmmakers in Bollywood, his demise is mourned. God bless his soul.
