Vivek Oberoi’s Wedding: Stars Descend with Their Good Wishes

Superstar Rajnikanth, Bollywood stars, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Telugu superstar Cheeranjivi were among the star-studded contingent who attended the ‘sangeet ceremony’ the night prior to the wedding of Vivek Oberoi who gets married to Priyanka Alva, in Bangalore. Earlier Priyanka who had seen Vivek mostly in moustache-beard mould when he would shoot for Raktha Charitra, asked him if he was usually this way. To show that it was not so, the talented actor sported a clean-shaven look for his wedding.

Sivamani and DJ Jasmeet enthralled the crowd with their music and beats, and the couple shook a leg to the peppy track Ghumoon deewana ban ke tere liye from his movie Prince. Priyanka also performed on a track from Devdas that was picturized on Madhuri Dixit. Her cousin, Laxmi danced in the Beedi jalaile jigar se piya track, from Vivek’s hit film, Omkara. Vivek was wearing a bottle-green Indian sherwani and Priyanka looked pretty in a pink lehenga.

Priyanka’s brother Aditya Alva said, “The marriage will be held in both Karnataka and Punjabi style. With the help of God’s blessings, all is going well. We had the mehendi and sangeet function today and the haldi function will take place tomorrow morning.” Both Vivek and Priyanka thanked the guests warmly for being a part of their happiness. Incidentally, director Ram Gopal Varma has not been invited to the wedding. When asked why, he said, “I don’t know but I am neither upset nor sad.”
