Salman Khan Says Stardom is All Hogwash

Salman Khan Says Stardom is All Hogwash

It would not be wrong to call Salman Khan the number one star of Bollywood because he has given two back to back moneymakers Wanted and Dabangg. But the star who has seen life probably more clearly than any other actor, is unruffled by his success and starry airs are the least of his concerns. However, people are also seeing a new, focused Salman Khan who insists on quality work.

Salman Khan says, “Stardom and all is bakwaas. I am and always will be the same. The only thing that has probably changed in me is that I have learnt to say ‘No’. Better known to do movies for his friends, he has changed the rules and does not hesitate saying ‘No’ when required” Sallu explains.

“Gone are the days when I used to make a film and say ‘chalta hai, sets pe dekh lenge, kuch bana denge’ to friends who did not have a script. Give me a good script and I will do it. ”

The star has become more media-savvy as well. The actor, who never bothered to promote his own films, started taking the initiative from Wanted. For his forthcoming film Ready, the actor has lined up a few promotional events. Salman Khan who bought a graffiti covered bus for a film promotional event denies his media savvy avatar. “I am bakofying, and you are chapoying. It’s the release of my film. I am doing my job and you are doing yours. Solves the purpose for both of us.”

The actor however hopes that he will be third time lucky. “I just hope we stand up to the expectations. Everybody starts off wanting to make a successful film,” says the actor. Ready has been mired with controversies a well, specially the fight between Salman Khan and Anees Bazmee. The actor says, “It is all bulls***. he came back for the post production of Thank You. There is no fight.”

But if it was not true, Salman should have denied the rumors. “Why should I clear rumours? It just takes my thumb to deny all rumors on Twitter. But I choose not to,” declares Sallu bhai. There have been speculations about his personal life too, for instance, his meeting with Somy Ali for the past few months. “Yes, I met her. She is my friend like many others.” He says candidly but clarifies, “They come to my house doesn’t mean I am having an affair with them.” He also clarifies about his so-called relationship with Kangana, “Kangna too, is my friend. She is very sweet.”

Though, Salman understands how to be diplomatic about the women in his life, one thing he still hasn’t learned is the business of making a film, unlike his peers Aamir, Shah Rukh or Saif. “I don’t want to understand the business. Sohail does and so does my father. It will probably take me five minutes but if I understand, I will spend hours every day thinking about it. I am happy this way,” reveals the actor.
