Shah Rukh Khan to be on Television Again

Shah Rukh Khan kicked off his career from television with serials like Fauji, Circus and Sanja Chula twenty years ago. The fantastic actor went on to become the superstar of Bollywood in due course of time. But even after ruling the roost, he has not forgotten television, his gateway to fame.

SRK did return to television with reality television like Kaun Banega Crorepati, Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? and Zor Ka Jhatka; making fans rave for more. But it is heard that SRK will do a cameo in primetime soap called ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ which is inspired from one of the biggest hits of Khan, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995).

A source says that it was not easy to get the superstar on the show. She says, “the serial is a highly anticipated fiction show, especially because it marks the return of Avika Gor.” As SRK has a packed schedule, it was not a cake way to help. However Shah Rukh Khan did give his consent because he liked the story line especially the fact that the story of the protagonist bore resemblance to his real life. He had mentioned during the making of DDLJ that Raj’s character was somewhat similar to his struggle during the time he was courting his to-be wife Gauri.

But is Shah Rukh playing himself in the serial? The source says, “SRK would be seen in a couple of episodes but the cameo is kept under wraps. The channel does not want to disclose what he will be playing in the show.” The channel however is tight-lipped about this piece of news. This will be his next outing in television after Zok Ka Jhatka, a show he did to raise finances for his movie Ra. One.
