Bipasha Basu Detained by Custom Officials

After Minissha Lamba, it is Bipasha Basu who has found herself in trouble with Mumbai custom officials. The officials say that the she had not declared imported valuables. The customs examined her bags and found out that she had no declared designer sunglasses, imported handbags and footwear. Bipasha claimed that she had paid the duty Rs.12, 000 in taxes and was let of by the officials.

The actress said that she thought that only electronic items and jewelry were to be declared. The officer in charge said that it was a genuine case and she really did not know the law, and was not trying to cheat. Bipasha when contacted, said, “It was just a routine check up at the airport and many others were being checked as well. I paid Rs. 12000 as taxes against some personal goods. I think the customs team is doing an excellent job.”
