Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi Get Close on the Set of The Dirty Picture

Two of the stars who have lit up the industry with their seductive quotient, Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi; were seen bonding famously on the sets of The Dirty Picture. Both the actors have been known for their steamy scenes, Vidya in Isqhiya and Emraan in innumerable films. We would like to believe that they have many things in common, and not surprisingly, both the actors have bonded quite well on the sets of The Dirty Picture.

When they started working, both the actors who were quite excited about their respective roles, did not really talk to each other much, considering both have different personalities. A source says, “Milan(the director) believed that both Emraan and Vidya need to spend time together before shoot. This is the reason he even organized workshops for them. Though Emraan isn’t really a man of many words, Vidya is open and fun-loving. Milan was sure that as mature individuals they would cultivate the kind of chemistry that was would be necessary for the genre and narrative of the film.”

The perseverance did work, and after a brief period, both Vidya and Emraan became thick friends and are now quite comfortable and close to each other. In fact, surprisingly, Emraan played a prank on the actress, acting as if he was high on alcohol, when she was shooting for a steamy scene. Though Vidya was taken aback, she realized what he was up to and that broke the ice between them.

Vidya and Arshad both being fantastic actors, have always been able to either be an equal or even outshine the stars they pair with. Vidya Balan was superb as she brushed her shoulders with Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi in Ishqiya and even manage to get more praises than Rani for her subdued role in No One Killed Jessica. Emraan managed to take on Ajay Devgn in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and has also given one of the biggest hits of 2011, Murder 2. It will be interesting to see how the chemistry will be between these two in The Dirty Picture. Incidentally, the movie releases worldwide on December 2, which is the birthday of Silk Smitha.

A person from the trade guide believes that The Dirty Picture is already a winner. “Known for engaging in interesting and unconventional casting in all its previous releases, Balaji has again tackled the unheard of by casting Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan – two of the most successful stars of today – opposite each other in The Dirty Picture. The perfect combination of mass and class promises to make this controversial film yet another winner from the Balaji stable,” she says.

The bonding between the two actors has reached a stage where there are quite comfortable discussing intricacies of on-screen intimacy between them or even discussing aspects of personal and professional lives. We will have to wait and watch how this unconventional pair between the two actors who have been quite bold in their own ways, sizzle the screen.
