Maria Susairaj and Emile Jerome, the two accused in the Neeraj Grover murder case, have told director Ram Gopal Varma separately that they do not want ‘Not a Love Story’ to be released. Both feel that they have been projected in the negative light of the film and hence should not be released.
While Maria had said that she wished to see the film in advance before giving approval, her boyfriend Emile said in no uncertain terms that the movie should not be released or the director will face legal action. Emile’s notice was sent on Saturday telling Ramu that he (Jerome) had enough evidence to say that the film is based on Neeraj Grover murder case that took place on May 7 2006, and that screening the film would tarnish the image of his family.
Emile’s notice stated that the film’s producer Sunil Bohra and the director had made the movie based on hearsay and media created rumors and not verified the facts while making the film. The notice states that the publicity and marketing of the film should be withdrawn in 24 hours and the release stopped or Ramu will bear legal action.
The film’s producer said that his work is a body of fiction and he has no clue as to why the two have sent him legal notice. The maverick RGV who had spoken in defense of Maria is shocked. He said, “I would have appreciated if she had spoken to me about it rather than sending a notice. But my lawyers are studying the notice and will give them an appropriate reply in a couple of days.”
