Priyanka Chopra to Play Sarojini Devi Naidu in her Next Film

Loading ...Priyanka Chopra who has never shied away from taking challenging roles is going to play the historical character of Sarojini Devi Naidu in her next film ‘Maqtassar’. The film covers three eras of independence- (1910s), post-independence (1960s) and the current times (2012). Saroini Devi Naidu who was called the ‘Nightingale of India’ was a legendary poet and had a pivotal role to play in the freedom struggle of India as she took the lead in many non-violent struggles that Gandhiji essayed.
Priyanka Chopra will be in a DE-glam avatar for the film and according to a source, she looks very convincing in simple but brightly colored saris that justify her character. Meanwhile the actress is doing her best to understand her character completely and is now in an absorbing mood trying to understand the mood, fashion and gestures of the erstwhile era.
