Katrina Kaif Turns Cricketer

We know about how The Housefull stars participated in a cricket match that timed with the release of the movie to generate more stir about the movie. Rajneeti, the huge Bollywood multistarrer that releases in June is going to be on similar lines.

Katrina Kaif may have endorsed a team in the IPL but she is pretty serious about learning the game to the hilt. She even started taking quick cricket lessons for the promotional video. Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor were there to help her out with the game while she played the game wearing a saree. Katrina says, “What’s so tough about playing cricket in a saree? Why do people presume I’m not at home in sarees? I’ve been wearing them at fashion shows and other events from the time I was a model. And I am comfortable in a saree, even when playing cricket.”

Though the cricket video is promotional, it did not really start that way. While they were shooting in Bhopal, the guys in the unit decided to play cricket between the shots. Katrina Kaif wasn’t going to be just an onlooker while the boys had fun. She insisted on playing the game too. Ranbir is believed to have told Katrina to leave, saying “Chal-chal yeh ladkiyon ke bas ki baat nahin.” The matured Arjun Rampal didn’t mind taking her in the team to play with them.

Katrina is appreciative of Arjun. “”Yeah, Arjun was very supportive. He not only stood up for me he also taught me elements of the game. Ranbir didn’t want me to be part of their cricket team. So I got my own bat and ball and insisted that I be part of the team.” Now their fun and games is a part of the promotional video which will be used for promoting the movie. The video however shows the good parts of the boys, where they are seen welcoming Katrina in the team. “But the minute the camera was switched off they sent me off to… like a hundred miles away to do fielding. I had to put my down if I wanted to learn the game on the field,” she grumbles. But whatever the outcome of the movie, Katrina has definitely become a cricketer.
