Movie Review: Red-Alert, The War Within – Watch It!

Red Alert-The War Within is a brilliant movie that touches the burning issues of waging war of naxalites in the country. Watch it for its brilliant script and a provoking narrative.

What works for Red Alert-The War Within: Since it deals with India’s most burning issue in present times, it makes more sense to watch this amazing movie more than ever now. The script of the movie by Aruna Raje is splendid as much is the direction by Ananth Mahadevan. It is a courageous film that not explores the tough terrain of the landscape but breezes easily through the murky controversies that surround this theme. The movie does not justify what Maoists do, spreading violence and death, but explores the seeds of hatred that have been sown in their hearts.

The movie does not look like a documentary; it is a telling tale that can make a lot of people familiar with the Maoist situation while keeping the thrills intact. A dialogue from Aruna Raje creates a lasting effect in the movie, Woh log desh ke khilaf hain; hum system ke”. “Dono taraf hamare log hain; kaise maren,”

What is not so good in Red Alert-The War Within

It is not easy to make a movie that deals with a touchy subject and it can be difficult to satisfy both sides while making a film on controversial subjects. The same thing happens to Red Alert-The War Within, in the end, the Naxals are sure to be offended by the film. But they are too busy fighting a war against the system to watch the film. Despite this flaw and a few other minor ones , Red Alert is a satisfying watch.

Performances in Red Alert-The War Within

Great to see Sameera Reddy goin de-glam,as a contract laborer she shines in the film. Bhagyashree as the wife of Sunil Shetty is apt. The powerful roles by the likes of Naseeruddin Shah, Gulshan Grover, Seema Biwsas, Ayesha Dharker and Ashish Vidyarthi are sure to leave an impact. Sunil Shetty however, walks away with the honors with his career-best performance, he has given a measured performance that will find a round of applause among critics and masses.
