Anurag Kashyap, who is known to mince not words, has gone far ahead, and made scathing statements against none other than Big B. Apparently, Anurag has taken up this cause for a movie that is not in any way related to him. It so happens that a movie called Chittagong was to be released on the same day that Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se released; both are based on the same topic, ‘The Chittagong Armory Raid’.
While Khelein Hum Jee Jan Sey (KHJJS) released on December 3, Anurag Kashyap feels that Amitabh Bachchan had a hand in sabotaging the release of a small budget movie like Chittagong to make way clear for his son’s mega project. Sonali Bose has directed ‘Chittagong’ which stars Manoj Bajpayee in the main lead, while Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, a big budget movie had stars like Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan, and was directed by one of Bollywood’s biggest directors, Ashutosh Gowariker.
This is what Anurag wrote on a social networking site, “See Chittagong, a far superior film made on the same subject as Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey.. At 1/8 th the cost, far superior actors and immense passion… Producers decided to sit on it, because of a phone call from someone, because that someone was trying desperately to save his son’s career… welcome to Bollywood, where whose son you are outshines all the hard work and passion and potential and talent. KHJJS came and went, now what?”
The comment certainly has not gone well with the Bachchans; both Amitabh and Abhishek has refused to add more fuel to the fire. While Big B said that the accusation is baseless and incorrect, Abhishek simply said that he did not want to comment on the issue.
