Yash Chopra Threatened by the Underworld

The underworld is raising its ugly head again. And this time, the one on their radar is none other than the most experience and successful movie producer-director, Yash Chopra. Gangster Ravi Pujari has been giving threatening calls to the director. In fact, the director has even gone ahead and registered a complaint with the Zonal DCP about it and has managed to get extra security posted at his office.

According to the police, a Ravi Pujari gang member has been calling up the land-line at Yash Raj Films office in Oshiwara. The person, at times says that he is Pujari himself, and demands protection money worth Rs 50 lakh from the filmmaker. Though Chopra had not retaliated in the beginning, he eventually got tired of the calls and sent a letter to the police, and two constables have been posted outside the YRF office.

The underworld has been threatening a few film personalities and affluent people lately. Ayesha Takia’s husband Farhan Azmi, film makers Mahesh Bhatt and Ravi Kapoor had also received death threats in a similar fashion. Though the Yash Chopra spokesman denied the story, the police is looking into the matter.
