Vidya Balan’s Bathing Scene Turns Into a Disaster

What may look like a sensuous scene to you in Vidya Balan starer Dirty Picture was not half as pleasurable to the actress; this is something she can vouch for. The actress, who is essaying the role of the late item girl Silk Smitha, encountered a problem when she was doing a bathing scene for a song in the film.

Vidya had to show a lot of skin in the scene but while doing so, she ended up damaging her skin. She developed a skin rash so bad that she was rushed to a dermatologist. The problem happened in Film City, Goregaon. Dressed in a skimpy towel, the actress stepped into a tub that was filled with soap water. But then she began to develop skin itch. Though she ignored it in the beginning, Vidya raised an alarm when she saw that the raised patches gave way to red rashes.

A source revealed, “Vidya soon realised that she had developed an allergy. The rash spread all over her body. She quickly got dressed. Abandoning the shoot, she went to see the doctor immediately.”

The production house claims that the unhygienic water is not the reason for the allergy because Balaji Motion Pictures is known to organize mineral water in the bathing scenes. Luthria, the director is also known to be particular about his actors getting nothing but the best, according to the source. In spite of the precautions, Vidya developed the allergy; possibly due to the bathtub that may have been painted recently, or the soap or the fact that that she was in the soapy water for a long period of time.

A leading dermatologist from Andheri (West) whom Vidya visits often, says that the allergic reaction has been trigged from the soap used. “Like most other actresses, Vidya too must be using soap with a lesser percentage of alkali. The soap used must have had a higher acidic content causing the skin to break out in rash. This happens when a person is exposed to soap water for a very long time,” said the doctor.

More than Vidya, the scene stands to suffer. The source adds, “Hiccups are not uncommon to a shoot. This was one such incident in Dirty Picture. The first schedule in Mumbai has been completed. The second schedule kicks off in Hyderabad in a few days. Vidya will have time till then to recover completely. Hopefully, she’ll be fine by then.”
