The experimental Vidya Balan says that she wants do more challenging roles as they come. One of her pet favorites is the role of the other woman in a movie based on extramarital affairs. “I want to do something where there is lots of drama as our lives are dramatic. May be do something like ‘Arth’, ‘Silsila’ kind of film, something on extra marital affair as wherever we go we get to hear about it,” Vidya said in an interview.
Though she is now doing a comedy thriller with Emraan Hashmi, Vidya loves doing dramatic roles and two of her favorites are Arth the 1982 film directed by Mahesh Bhatt, starring Smitha Patil, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Shabana Azmi and Raj Kiran and the 1981 film ‘Silsila’ which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri, Sanjeev Kumar and Rekha. Vidya says that she is also interested in the biopic of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. “I may like to do a biopic on Indira Gandhi or something like that,” says the talented actress who won all the ‘best actress’ awards for 2011 for her movie The Dirty Picture. “Comedy is something I would like to explore. And speaking of other genres like action, it’s something I am not interested in,” she said.
