Murder 2 is not a patch on the original that created history in 2004. Murder starring Mallika Sherawat and Emran Hashmi was a sexual revolution in terms of sensuality and eroticism. Though the makers had already said that the story line of the sequel is quite different from the first one, and has nothing to do with the original, Murder 2 is a disappointing venture. By the time, the movie was on the verge of release, there was news that the movie was copied from some Korean movie, though the makers denied, saying that it was loosely based on their very own Sadak (1991). But now we know that...

The sultry Vidya Balan is clearing gaining an advantage as the most sought after actress in Bollywood. She has been getting scripts that have been written for her like Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica and The Dirty Picture and looks like the next one ‘Satte Pe Satta’ will also fall on her lap. Director Soham Shah initially wanted to take Madhuri Dixit in the role that Hema Malini had immortalized in the original. But since the lead actor of the film Sanjay Dutt was not too happy with Madhuri Dixit (they had a relationship in the 90s) in the film, they penciled in for Aishwarya Rai....

Ranveer Singh was heard twice saying, “I am so stressed” in desperation when he tried to catch a lift to his room after he finished performing at IIFA Awards in Toronto. Sources have seen him getting into a showdown with girlfriend Anushka Sharma again. This is usual for them because they have always been seen having fights and then patching up, but this time, it was worse than usual. It is believed that Anushka does not like Ranveer getting too close for comfort with other actresses; at one time, it was with TV serial actress Ragini Khan and this time, it was with Sonakshi Sinha...

Close on the heels of Shamita Shetty who quit Bollywood to pursue another area of interest, Uday Chopra, her co-star in Mohabbatein (2000), has also quit acting. Uday is the son of famous film director Yash Chopra. He had been associated with movies like the Dhoom series but had not met with much success in other films that he starred in. Uday tweeted, “Ok confession time… Dhoom 3 is my swan song… my last film… no I’m not giving up acting… quite the opposite, acting is giving up on me!” He had confessed in many interviews that he would take failure...

Contrary to speculations that Priyanka Chopra had replaced Aishwarya Rai in Heroine, the former has flatly denied it. There was a story in the media that Priyanka had warmed up to Madhur Bhandarkar (director of Heroine) and said that he should not shelve the film, consenting to do the main lead. Considering that she was relatively more inhibition-free and had no reservations about intimate scenes, smoking on-screen etc as she had done in Fashion, she had suggested that she would do the film instead. Aishwarya had reportedly also refused to smoke on-screen in the film apart from the fact that...
