Movie Review: Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai – Interesting Till the Interval

Milap Zaveri couldn’t find anything innovative with love stories about real people, so he decided to go the alien way, and has come up with a love story between a woman from Venus(literally) and a man from Earth. This story is also a clichéd one, blissfully unknown to Milap perhaps, and does not really create the kind of impact that would send people back to theaters for an encore.

Story of Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai:

The story is set in the film industry where an assistant director Rajesh(Ritesh Deshmukh) falls in love with an alien Tara [Jacqueline Fernandez], from planet Venus, who drops to the set in search of her true love. Ritesh is in love with Natasha(Sonal Sehgal) and is friends with Desh (Ruslaan Mumtaz) the youngest superstar in the country before the two fall for the alien babe. Milap does a good job with all the character of the story, a heart-throb film star, a loser, the ‘sexed up’ friend of the protagonist and the antics on the film-set. Regular special appearances Bollywood like Farah Khan, Akshay Kumar and Amrita Ra are interesting.

What is Hot in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai

The movie has an interesting premise in the first half, and the light-hearted appeal and humor works quite well before the interval. After the interval, of course, the movie becomes jaded.  To the credit of Milap Zaveri who has written Sajid Khan’s Heyy Babby and movies like Masti and Kaante, this is a good debut flick for him to adorn the directorial baton. The music of the film by Sajid-Wajid is nice and Attar Singh Saini’s cinematography is perfect.

What’s not hot in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai

The script and the execution both fall flat in the second half. There are glaring errors in the film and you cannot digest why Jacqueline’s character becomes so much ‘human’  in the second half.

Performances in Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai

Ritesh Deshmukh who is always at his best in comedies, does a commendable job in this one too. He is equally good in romantic and emotional scenes. Jacqueline looks lovely and acts well.  Vishal Malhotra is very good and so is Ruslaan Mumtaaz Sonal Sehgal does a good job too. The special appearances rock, especially those of Satish Shah, Farah Khan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Amrita Rao and Sajid Khan.

Conclusion:

You might as well pay half the price of the ticket because the movie is half as good. Strictly average fare.
