Anil Kapoor is truly the first Bollywood actor to crossover to mainstream Hollywood. After the Slumdog Millionaire glory, the talented actor has found his calling in Hollywood, where nothing short of Mission Impossible 4 beckons him. It is believed that Anil will be playing the lead negative role in the Tom Cruise starer and he will definitely need more time to invest in this lucrative role
Back home, there are mixed emotions. While many, including his own producers are happy on Anil Kapoor’s exclusion in the elite Hollywood company, there are jitters in Ratan Jain camp who wanted to make ‘Tez’ with him as well as producer Firoz Nadiadwala who was going to make the highly touted Power, with Anil in an interesting role. In fact, both Tez and Power are premium projects and it seems that the actor will not have time to do these, if he is in Hollywood.
Says a source, “After Slumdog Millionaire, Hollywood offers have been pouring in for Anil Kapoor. Mission Impossible 4’s makers contacted Anil’s agent. Anil loved his role and said ‘yes’. Though the details of Anil’s role are yet unclear, buzz is that he will play the chief villain in the film.”
Mission Impossible 4 stars Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Anil Kapoor, Paula Patton, Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on December 16, 2011.
Though Ratan Jain is okay with Anil Kapoor scheduling the dates for him, Firoz Nadiadwala has also agreed to read just the dates. Nadiadwala is trying to work around Anil’s combo scenes with other actors to minimize inconvenience. Sajid Nadiadwala, “Anil being in Mission Impossible 4 is a proud moment not just for Anil but all of India.”
