Asin and Neil Nitin Mukesh: More Than Just Friends

Of late, Asin Thottumkal has been showing too much interest on Neil Nitin Mukesh. After his breakup with childhood sweetheart Priyanka, Neil had been seen having cozy dinners with Asin. In 2010, both of them had signed up to play lead roles in Pocketmaar to be produced by Ravi Chopra. The movie never took off, but a new friendship began to emerge. Then on Neil’s advice, Asin purchases the same car that Neil has; the one which is seen being parked outside her place, quite often.

The stars however have refuted claims of an affair and said that they are “just friends”. But now there are reports that Neil is recommending Asin to producers and that he takes the advice of the Ghajini girl for his professional moves. When asked about this Neil had stung back, “Asin is a very close friend, and I see no reason why I should shy away from that. I am fond of her and we are good friends, but I don’t need to recommend her to anyone.”

When Hriday Shetty (son of the ace villain, the late Shetty) approached Neil to play a male lead in the film, the actor heard him out and also suggested that he should get Asin to play the female lead, a statement that goes opposite to what Neil claimed. But then when Hriday arranged a sitting with Asin and explained her role, she rejected it and said that even Neil should back out of it.
“Hriday was shocked when Asin not only refused the offer but also told him the role wouldn’t suit Neil either,” revealed a source.

Though Hriday refuses to comment, a source says, “Asin and Neil have become very close to each other. Their combined decision about the Hriday Shetty film was kind of weird and hard to explain.” Though Neil was not available in India to comment (he is shooting in Russia for Players), his spokesperson said, “Neil is not dating Asin. But I am not aware of the Hriday Shetty incident.” On the other hand Asin who will be seen in the Salman Khan starrer “Ready”, chose not to reply to the calls or text messages. How about resurrecting Pocketmaar movie again, and call it “Chuppa Rustom” instead?
