Kareena Kapoor: “I don’t like doing action scenes, I am a song and dance girl”

Her rival Priyanka Chopra may love action scenes, but they do not really matter to the queen-bee Kareena Kapoor who is quite comfortable with song and dance sequences. Kareena says categorically, “The only thing I insisted on while signing RA.One (with Shah Rukh Khan) and Agent Vinod (with Saif Ali Khan) was that I don’t want to perform any stunts hate doing action. I won’t ever do an action film because that is not me at all.”

Kareena says, “That’s why Chamak Challo… was made for me, and the action was left to Shah Rukh and Arjun Rampal.” The job of promoting the film has been on Kareena’s shoulders because Sallu was in the US undergoing treatment for a nerve disorder. Kareena says that being an actor isn’t even half as glamorous as it is made out to be . “Honestly, during promotions, actors are like donkeys. You open the paper and read about how everybody is trying to outdo the other. But I think all this will stop in the next couple of years,” she says

Kareena avoids the question about any comparison between Dabangg and Bodyguard but says, “I am certain this film will be a classic. We’ve seen Salman in the comedy and action genres before. But this film has soul and intense drama of love, which will have higher numbers. After a point, watching non-stop action or even comedy gets to be too much.” She admits that playing the role of an MBA student in the movie took her to own college days. She replies,” : We shot at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, which is new and no one has ever shot there before. I’ve never seen a college that looked like that, and I marvelled at how much things have changed since the time I was a student.” Kareena giggles, , “Though I didn’t go to college a lot. I just went to Mithibai (in Juhu) for a year, then ran away to America.”

Does Kareena Kapoor have a bodyguard? She says, “I think all the girls are jealous that I have such a good-looking bodyguard and boyfriend in Salman. But frankly in Mumbai, I’ve never felt the need for a bodyguard, because both Saif and I are relaxed and carefree. It’s only when we travel outside, when the crowds get quite crazy. This time, when we were shooting in Chandigarh and Ahmedabad, I had Shera (Salman’s Bodyguard) there with me.”
