Serial Actresses Storming as Item Girls

Gauhar Khan sizzled in the item number ‘Monica Oh My Darling’ song from ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’. Now it looks like there is an influx of actresses from TV who will do the roles of item girls in films. Not many girls are as lucky as Prachi Desai to get main leads in mainstream movies! Anyway, Shweta Salve, the dusky sensation will be seen in Madhur Bhandarkar’ movie ‘Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji’ where she will be doing an item song in retro dance mode.

TV actresses have got miniscule roles in feature films like Saakshi Tanwar for C Kompany and Mona Singh in 3 Idiots. Gauhar herself was seen in a performance based role in “Rocket Singh Salesman of the Year”. Lately, television actresses are doing the roles of item girls in movies.

Shweta Salve who has participated and become runner-ups in many TV shows like Jhalak Dikhla Ja (Indian version of Dancing with the Stars) and Khatron Ke Khiladi (Indian version of Fear Factor) will be now going the ‘Item Girl’ route where she will be strutting her stuff.
